OUR MISSION

The North Slope Borough’s Search and Rescue department is committed to providing safe and reliable airborne response to medical evacuation (medevac), search and rescue calls, and other emergencies.

We strive to work collaboratively with NSB SAR volunteers and other agencies across the North Slope region for ground, air, and water search and rescue missions.

Every year we fly hundreds of missions across an area in excess of 95,000 square miles in some of the most extreme weather conditions on the planet; providing safe, efficient and reliable airborne response to our communities medical needs, search and rescue calls for help and government/village direct support flight requests.

To ensure the safest possible response we operate one of the most modern aircraft fleets in the world and recruit some of the most highly experienced pilots and mechanics to be part of our team.
